I went to Puerto Rico in October of 2010 and instantly fell in love with the island. It is so beautiful and historic but has all the modern day conviniences I cannot live without. We spent most of our time in Old San Juan and explored the island on foot as well as rented a car for a couple of days to visit El Yunque National Forest and the other side of the island.
Places I recommend:
La Bombonera: Old San Juan- the best freaking pastries ever. We used to walk over for breakfast and pick up pastries with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice or lemonade.
Al Dente: San Juan-my favorite was our appetizer Arancini di Spinaci which is basically deep fried spinach balls served with a light sauce; I can still taste them now nomnomnomnom
ISTANBUL: San Juan- It’s funny that we had some of the best Turkish food while in Puerto Rico. The food took forever to come out, but it was amazing. Everything was impeccably cooked and spiced. Try the Imam Bayildi (Eggplant/Berenjena) and Adana Kebab
Old San Juan: Historic district, cute shops, short walk to El Morro Fort.
El Yunque Rain Forest: You can go with a group or rent a car and go on your own schedule like we did.
Forts: Castillo de San Cristóbal (Fort) & Castillo San Felipe del Morro (Fort)- both forts are located on different sides of the island with different views. My favorite was El Morro.
Note: If you have time to go visit the island of Vieques, do it! We were crunched for time so we did not get a chance to explore.
I love simple sweaters with embellishments, it makes is easier for me to throw it on without having to work on the accessories. I paired this sweater with simple skinnies and basic shoes to keep the focus on the top. I have been eyeing mules ever since seeing them at the runway shows and when I walked into Target and spotted them on clearance for $10, I was ecstatic! Besides the unbelievable price, I love that they’re super comfy and include a snap back detail that makes them easy to put on and take off. They are still their original price online, however, I recommend stopping by your local Target; I’ve scored many shoes on sale at my store months before they are reduced online.

Midi skirts have been my obsession lately. Because I work in a professional environment 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, I try and buy clothing that can be styled for both work and social outings. Midi skirts are great for that because they are work appropriate and amazingly chic in social settings.

“Flowers wilt, jewelry tarnishes, and candles burn out but chocolate doesn’t hang around long enough to get old.”
No truer words have been spoken. I love to decompress after a long day with a box of good chocolate, netflix and a burning scented candle in the background. I have been obsessed with Godiva chocolates lately, they’re so yummy and rich and savory and ugh! I literally could eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Since I had gone on a spree a couple weeks before, I’d already gotten most of the things I’d been eyeing, but when I stumbled upon this set, I could not resist.
I am not a very big lip product person, it’s just not very practical for me. I tend to touch my face a lot and eat throughout the day so, anything on my lips lasts all of two minutes before fading or smudging. I also like products that can be reapplied easily and in one step. This collection does it for me. I love that they have a great range of colors in the collection and they’re small enough to take with me on the go. They are very pigmented so a little goes a long way but you can also layer it on, if thats your thing.
The only two things I initially had a problem with was the brush that you’re supposed to use when applying it and also the consistency. I used the brush to put some product on my lips but I then used my finger to dab it in. I find that looks more natural than just using the brush alone. Also, it was a little sticky, but oddly enough, after having it on for a few minutes, the stickiness disappeared–is that normal? I don’t know, but I’m not asking questions.
Overall, this is a great product to grab if you want a good range of lip glosses that are beautiful and portable. The $32 price tag isn’t amazing but when coupled with the 15% off coupon, it knocks off a couple more dollars, which helps. I know these will last me quite sometime and I like buying smaller lip products and throwing them out sooner than other things I own because I find they ‘go bad’ a lot faster than other products. I think thats also a big reason I gravitated towards these, their size won me over.
Thank God spring is finally showing itself. Over a month late, but I’ll take it! These polka dot overalls are my obsession at the moment. I could wear them every single day because they’re so comfy and easy to style. I chose to style them with red heels and accessories to add color but I’ve also worn converse with them for my super lazy days.
